Overview

A warm family in TriBeCa is seeking an exceptional full-time nanny to start in April. Mom will be returning to work in mid-May, and the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am–5:30pm until the Fall. In the Fall, the schedule will switch to 8:30am–6:30pm Monday through Thursday, and 8:30am–5:30pm on Fridays. Occasional weekend hours can be available to candidates who are open to working additional hours, but this is not required. The family has an 8-week-old baby and a 3.5-year-old who will begin a 3’s program in September from 9am–3pm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, developmentally appropriate care for both children
  • Support morning, after-school, evening, and bedtime routines
  • Foster children’s emotional, social, and physical development
  • Communicate with children in a clear, respectful, age-appropriate way that supports emotional regulation and problem-solving
  • Model kindness, patience, accountability, and respect in daily interactions
  • Healthy food preparation for the children, as time allows (the parents are very mindful of the fact that this won't always be possible, especially when the nanny is caring for both children, and they are very happy to tag team with the nanny on this)
  • Children’s laundry only
  • Domestic travel with the family is ideal

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a formal education or understanding of early childhood development, ECE or other relevant field, and a true passion for working with children from infancy through early childhood.
  • The family is seeking a developmentally focused nanny who is deeply engaged and proactive, who engages children in meaningful conversation from an early age, actively supports all developmental milestones, and fosters strong verbal and social skills.
  • The perfect candidate will go above and beyond basic childcare — creating enriching, age-appropriate activities and helping guide educational milestones, manners, and overall behavior.
  • The family places a strong emphasis on teaching, development, and thoughtful engagement. They want someone who intuitively understands how to “calibrate” activities appropriately for each stage and who brings energy, warmth, organization, and a loving presence to the home.

Requirements

  • US Passport, Green Card, or EAC
  • Up to date on Flu, RSV, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations
  • Ideally be able to travel domestically with the family
  • Available to start in April
  • This position is best suited for someone who sees childcare as meaningful, long-term work and takes pride not only in what children do each day but in who they are becoming.

Salary and Benefits

  • $40–45 per hour
  • MetroCard
  • $500/month insurance stipend
