Overview

A lovely, relaxed British family seeks a wonderful live-in Nanny/Mother's Helper to join them in the US from early May to approximately mid/end June this year.  Ideally, the family would find someone who is based in the UK but also has work authorisation for the US.  If this isn't possible, then amazing US candidates are welcome to apply (preferably local to the Las Vegas area).  The role will likely be 5 days per week for the first couple of weeks, and then 6 days per week for the rest of the assignment.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting time for the family- they are travelling first to Las Vegas for a few days, and then will move to a rental in Fort Mojave, where they will await the arrival of their second child (due 3rd week of May).  They will likely then remain in the area for another 3-4 weeks, although they may travel back to Vegas before returning home.  The role will suit a genuine all-rounder, happy to provide support to the family wherever needed.  Responsibilities will likely include:

  • Care for their 2-year-old girl, creating a wonderful, warm, nurturing, and fun environment for her
  • Taking her out to parks, activities, and on adventures
  • Light housekeeping, tidying, and organising
  • Helping set up the newborn's area, organizing clothes, and generally getting things ready for her arrival
  • General errands including grocery shopping, general provisioning, etc
  • Laundry and minimal ironing
  • Some care for the newborn, including a couple of overnights if confident (to give the parents a break!)
  • Some cooking for the family when needed

Requirements

  • Candidates will need to be confident drivers
  • Confident swimmers would also be preferred
  • Warm, positive, pitch-in mind-set
  • Flexible and adaptable approach- there will be lots of moving parts and changing schedules, so it's essential that the candidate can cope with this
  • Great sense of humour and excellent at reading the room
  • Calm, easy-going personality
  • French speakers would be welcome!
