Overview

A warm, busy, and professional family on the Upper East Side is seeking a full-time, live-out nanny for their newborn son, born in April 2026. This is a long-term position for a collaborative, flexible, and travel-ready candidate who can grow with the family. This role will start in July with a week overlapping with the Baby Nurse.

The schedule will be Monday through Friday, approximately 8:00/8:30 AM – 6:00/6:30 PM, with flexibility for occasional longer days and overnight coverage when one or both parents are traveling. Both parents run their own businesses and maintain demanding, fast-paced schedules.

The family is looking for a true team player—someone who takes a holistic approach to the household, understands the importance of supporting both the child and the parents, and brings a warm, thoughtful, and proactive presence to the home. While the role is primarily focused on childcare, the ideal candidate will be happy to pitch in where needed, maintain organization, and keep shared spaces tidy (a full-time housekeeper is already employed). Must also be okay with a dog.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Full care of the infant, including feeding, diapering, naps, and developmental engagement
  • Establishing routines and supporting developmental milestones
  • Light baby-related housekeeping (laundry, bottles, tidying play areas)
  • Assisting with errands or household support as needed
  • Providing occasional overnight care when parents are traveling

This role requires extensive flexibility and a love of travel. The nanny will travel both domestically and internationally, including frequent trips to Mexico and Italy, as well as other destinations throughout the year (approximately 10–15 trips annually). Travel may occasionally be scheduled on short notice, so adaptability is key. The family is very thoughtful and ensures excellent accommodations, including first-class flights and comfortable lodging.

Qualifications

The family would love to find someone Spanish-speaking (or bilingual), though this is not a requirement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional childcare experience, ideally with infants/newborns
  • Strong understanding of newborn care, routines, and developmental milestones
  • Must be comfortable working in a walk-up building (physically capable)
  • Open to a full-time, live-out role with flexibility for occasional overnights

Travel & Flexibility

  • Must be passport-ready and able to travel internationally (frequent trips to Mexico and Italy)
  • Comfortable with 10–15 trips per year, including occasional last-minute travel
  • Willing to provide overnight care when parents are traveling

Salary and Benefits

  • $35-40/hr
  • Healthcare
  • Paid overnights
  • Paid vacation days
  • Sick days
