Manny / Private Tutor / Educator

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Compensation: Starting at $45/hour (negotiable based on experience, education, and qualifications)

Position Overview

A loving family in Acadia is seeking a Manny / Private Tutor / Educator to support an 8th-grade boy during after-school and evening hours. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with middle school/high school–aged children and can provide a balance of academic support, structure, mentorship, and active engagement in sports and physical activities.

The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, and confident guiding a student through both academic responsibilities and extracurricular routines, while serving as a consistent role model and mentor.

• Pick up from school daily (San Gabriel) and transport to after-school activities and home

• Provide homework assistance and academic support, including organization, study habits, and accountability

• Actively participate in daily sports, exercise, and physical activities alongside the student, helping build consistency, discipline, and healthy habits

• Encourage engagement in enrichment opportunities and extracurricular activities

• Support after-school routines, including activities, downtime, and evening transitions

• Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering responsibility, confidence, and independence

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding progress, schedules, and any concerns

• Provide regular progress updates and reports, including:

• Student’s academic progress and development

• Completed tasks and outcomes

• Physical activity participation

• Future goals and planned projects

• Prior experience working in a similar role (manny, private tutor, educator, mentor, coach, or comparable position)

• Strong academic support skills; comfortable assisting with middle school and high school–level coursework

• Calm, professional, and engaging demeanor

• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized

• Comfortable driving daily; must have:

• Valid driver’s license

• Clean driving record

• Reliable personal vehicle

• Ability to commit to a consistent Monday–Friday schedule
