Overview

A professional young family on the Upper West Side is seeking a full-time live-out nanny for their 3-month-old son. The position will begin at the end of March when the mother returns to work, and the schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, with some flexibility for the right candidate, as both parents work from home a few days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all infant care, including managing sleep and feeding schedules
  • Washing bottles and sanitizing toys 
  • Preparing and introducing solids when the time comes 
  • Keeping his spaces organized and tidy
  • Monitoring nursery inventory and working with parents to maintain supplies 
  • Getting him out and about on a daily basis (weather permitting) including walks and trips to the park, and scheduling classes and playdates as he gets older 
  • Communicating with first-time parents about milestones and development 

Qualifications

  • Engaging and creative, and willing to read to the baby and facilitate developmentally appropriate learning activities as he gets older 
  • Familiar with the UWS and proactive in planning activities and outings
  • Knowledgeable about infant and childhood development
  • Warm, kind, and loving 
  • Professional and communicative
  • Able to work around a WFH parent
  • Looking for a long-term commitment, as the family would like to have another child in the next few years 

Requirements

  • US work authorization
  • Recent experience with infants 
  • Able to work in a home with a cat 
  • CPR/First Aid certified, or willing to get certified immediately
  • Up-to-date on infant vaccines including TDap and MMR, and willing to get annual Covid and Flu boosters

Salary and Benefits

  • $35-40/hr.+, DOE
