Overview

A busy family is seeking a part-time housekeeper for their Gramercy apartment. The schedule for this position is flexible- the family is looking for one 8-hour day per week, starting at 8:30am, once the children are out of the house. The family is flexible on the day, but it must be a weekday. The housekeeper should have the flexibility to travel to the family's summer home in Long Island. 

Responsibilities

The housekeeper will be responsible for the upkeep of a three-bedroom, 1,300-square-foot apartment, including deep cleaning, general tidying, organization, and laundry (the unit is in the basement). The following will be included:

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the home
  • Handle laundry; folding and putting away
  • Ensure all floors and surfaces are always kept spotless
  • Maintain a tidy, well-presented kitchen and bathrooms at all times
  • Prepping meals from time to time 

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this role will have strong attention to detail, be organized, and be adaptable.
  • The candidate should be comfortable with ironing and able to create and maintain organizational systems at home.
  • The family is willing to add additional hours for evening babysitting and meal prep/cooking if desired

Requirements

  • The housekeeper should be OK with a SAHM and children.
  • Can travel to Long Island in the summer 
  • Can commit to one day per week
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in private, high-level households
  • Knowledge of fabrics. Must be able to read clothing labels
  • Child-friendly and family-oriented demeanor 

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering a rate of $40 per hour gross for this position, and is flexible depending on experience and skill-set.
