Overview

A warm, polished, and academically minded live-out Governess is sought to support the intellectual, social, and emotional development of a bright 4-year-old girl in a busy Palm Harbor household. The family includes three children- twin 2-year-olds, who have their own dedicated full-time nanny, and parents who work hybrid schedules and remain actively involved. The home also includes a Family Assistant, and the family values clear communication, strong collaboration, thoughtful structure, and a Governess who brings creativity, calm consistency, and a deep love of early learning.

Responsibilities

Designing and implementing daily educational plans tailored to kindergarten readiness

Creating play-based learning experiences supporting speech, early literacy, fine motor, and cognitive skills

Preparing and organizing materials, lessons, projects, and enrichment activities

Planning outings and experiences that foster curiosity and exploration

Supporting social and emotional development

Preparing healthy snacks/meals

Maintaining an organized learning environment

Communicating consistently with parents and collaborating with household staff

Traveling with the family as needed

Requirements

• 5+ years in governess/educator roles – or equivalent degree
• Knowledge of literacy, phonics, and kindergarten readiness
• Creative, curious, skilled at lesson design
• Organized, proactive, warm
• Strong swimmer (family home has a pool on site)
• Driver with own vehicle and clean driving record
• Passport-ready; able to travel domestically and internationally
• The ability to speak Spanish is a plus

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $150,000+ DOE
