A sweet family in Union City, NJ (about 15 minutes from Manhattan next to Hoboken) is seeking a loving, long term live-out nanny for their 2 young children. The eldest is 1-year-old and they are expecting a baby February 2026; a night nurse will be present for the infant for the first month. They are seeking care four (4) days per week from 7:30am-6:30pm (approximately 44 hours per week).
Both parents are professionals in the finance field who work significant hours. Neither parent grew up with a nanny, and thus, do not have unrealistic expectations about what a nanny can be. They value warmth, proactiveness, and reliability over perfection and are looking for a true partner in caring for their children – someone loving, organized, and deeply child-focused.
Their single-family house in Union City has a private guest bedroom for the nanny to keep their belongings during work hours.
The family’s goal is to hire someone who can be with the family for 5-10 years and can evolve into a house manager as the children grow older.
• Ensuring children's safety, health, and happiness at all times
• Actively nurturing and engaging the children in educational, developmental, and fun age-appropriate activities that encourage their physical and mental growth

• Diaper changes
• Maintaining the children’s nap, eating, and play schedules
• Children’s laundry (clothes and bed sheets)

• Notifying parents when child-related items need to be restocked, clothes are too small, etc.
• Keeping the home's main spaces and the children’s rooms clean and tidy (putting away/wiping down toys, cleaning bottles, dishes, and the kitchen after meal-time, tidying their rooms, emptying diaper pail, doing children's laundry, changing children's sheets, keeping the stroller/diaper bag organized and well-stocked)
• Flexible and able to stay longer as needed i.e., babysit at night or on weekends
• Keeping a log/report of baby’s schedule (feeding, naps, etc. - using Huckleberry app)
• Occasionally bathing and bedtime as needed i.e., if parents are out that night
• Open to occasional travel or overnights as needed
• If the nanny can do light cooking and laundry for the whole family (children and parents) this is a bonus and they will compensate higher
• At least 5 years experience in the child care field
• Some higher education is preferred
• References are required
• Preference for candidates who occasionally would like to do weekend hours if parents need
• Preferred if the nanny is a licensed driver and there will be a car available for work purposes
• The family may get a dog or cat in the future in the next year to two so not being allergic to animals is preferred
• $40-50/hour (higher end of this range given to candidates who can do light cooking and family laundry). Salary will likely increase every six months.
