Overview

A loving and respectful family-oriented household in the Atherton/Palo Alto, CA, is seeking a professional, nurturing, temporary, live-in full-time nanny to care primarily for their 3-year-old daughter, with occasional support for their 14-month-old while mom is recovering from surgery. This is a collaborative household with co-nannies who work as a team, and the ideal candidate is positive, reliable, proactive, and aligned with the family’s calm yet dynamic environment. The term of the position is from February 1st, 2026, to April 1st, 2026. The nanny must be comfortable caring for both children and providing full support as needed. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 6pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. There is an opportunity for the position to become permanent for the right candidate. The accommodations consist of a private bedroom and bath. This role is ideal for someone excited about adventure, adaptable, and thrives in new experiences while still maintaining consistency and calm for the child. Local candidates preferred. Relocation is being offered for candidates currently located in California or bordering states. 

 

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the child/children
  • All aspects of full-charge care, including meal plan/prep and feeding of healthy meals, bathing, diapering, and reinforcing potty training (gentle reminders)
  • Child-related housekeeping, laundry, toy sanitation, and general tidying of children’s spaces
  • Flexible with family support as needed, empty/load dishwasher, feed/walk the dog (everyone pitches in)
  • Create an environment for the children to grow and thrive
  • Encourage language development and interactive play
  • Provide parents and co-nannies with updates to ensure cohesiveness
  • Collaborate with the family to provide the best care for the children
  • Manage daily schedule: activities, (indoor & outdoor) play-dates, school pickup/drop-offs, classes, etc
  • Create enriching, developmentally supportive activities
  • Teach and reinforce proper manners
  • Encourage independence and model how to make good choices
  • Supervise swim
  • Travel prep
  • Pack/unpack
  • Travel as requested domestically and internationally

Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods
  • Prior experience in a similar role or with children of similar age
  • Pet-Friendly – The family has a Pomeranian
  • Must be able to swim in a pool and the ocean
  • Valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Trustline Certified or willing to get
  • CPR/First Aid certified or willing to get
  • Up to date on MMR, Tdap, and flu vaccinations
  • Must be able to commit to the entire term 
  • Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $45 per hour.
