Overview

A warm and welcoming family living on a beautiful estate in Somerset is seeking a positive, bubbly, and proactive ROTA Nanny to join their household team. You will work on a week-on, week-off basis, providing attentive, nurturing, and organised care for four children of varying ages; B9, B7, B4, G16months. The home is very lively, friendly, and filled with pets—including two dogs and a cat—so animal lovers are very welcome. The schedule will be one week/one week off, and the nanny will live-in while on shift.  Experience with horses or farm animals is a huge bonus, though not essential. A collaborative attitude is key, as you will work alongside other household staff to ensure the smooth running of family life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care, engagement, and supervision for all four children, but in particular the youngest child
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, learning opportunities, and outings.
  • Ensure routines (meals, bath time, bedtime, school runs) are followed smoothly.
  • Prepare new and nutritious meals for the children.
  • Maintain children’s bedrooms, play areas, clothes, and belongings in an organised manner.
  • Assist with homework, projects, and school preparation.
  • Travel with the family when required; mostly europe, they have a villa in Ibiza and go for the whole month of August every year
  • Support the household team and work collaboratively with parents and colleagues.
  • Ensure a safe, positive, and nurturing environment at all times.
  • Care for pets as needed (primarily dogs and cats).
  • Optional: assist with basic horse or farm animal care if comfortable.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a nanny, maternity nanny, or similar childcare role.
  • Confident driver with a clean licence (essential).
  • Confident cook (essential).
  • Confident in proxy parenting with all 4 children (essential).
  • Positive, bubbly, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently when needed.
  • Comfortable working in a rural, estate-based environment.
  • Team-player with excellent communication skills.
  • Pet-friendly and happy in a home with animals.
  • Childcare qualifications essential.
  • Up-to-date DBS check and strong references.
