Overview

A warm and welcoming family is expecting their first baby on March 22nd and is seeking an experienced Night Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) to provide overnight support during the critical newborn stage. The position will run for approximately 8 weeks (with the potential to extend), with a Monday through Friday, 8pm to 8am schedule.

The family will split their time between Long Island City, NY and their beach home in Mantoloking Beach, NJ(approx. 40 days at the beach, then back to the city). Comfortable live-in accommodations are available at both locations. This role is ideal for someone who is kind, emotionally steady, and highly qualified in newborn care and sleep support.

The ideal candidate will be confident, calm, and capable of creating a peaceful, structured overnight environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-charge overnight care for newborn
  • Create and manage healthy sleep routines and soothing nighttime structure
  • Handle all overnight diapering, feeding, and comforting needs
  • Support mother in exclusive breastfeeding journey with encouragement and guidance
  • Perform light nursery-related housekeeping (laundry, bottle and pump cleaning)
  • Ensure safety, comfort, and calm throughout the night
  • Work collaboratively with family in a respectful, helpful way

Qualifications

  • Warm, calming, and emotionally steady
  • Highly experienced with newborns, including overnight care and sleep training
  • Bilingual or multilingual strongly preferred – Portuguese, Spanish, or French (native speaker ideal)
  • Professional, friendly, and grounded personality
  • Comfortable in a home with two small dogs (Shih-poo and visiting dog)
  • Fully vaccinated (COVID, Tdap, flu, etc), CPR certified
  • Medical background or doula training is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with an understanding of family dynamics
  • Respectful of breastfeeding journey – experience supporting exclusive breastfeeding preferred
  • Calm energy is key

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Proven experience as an NCS
  • Clear communication style and ability to adapt to family preferences
  • Availability for 8 weeks (with possibility to extend)

Salary and Benefits

  • $45–$70/hour, DOE
  • Live-in accommodations provided in both Long Island City and Mantoloking Beach
  • Option for live-in during placement or daily commuting
