Overview

A family in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn is seeking an engaging full-time live-out nanny for their 1-year-old son. The child is cheerful, loving, and active. They are seeking a top-notch professional career nanny and would want a Norland Nanny ultimately but only if the Norland Nanny is already stateside and doesn't need work visa sponsorship. The schedule is Monday through Friday 10am-6pm for 40 hours a week. They may have 1 late evening a week for a date night; the candidate to hire may need to be flexible to stay late on occasion or come in earlier (for example, at 9am) on occasion.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring child's safety, health, and happiness at all times
  • Actively nurturing and engaging the child in educational, developmental, and fun age-appropriate activities that encourage his physical and mental growth
  • Supporting the achievement of age-appropriate milestones (e.g. mealtime, socialization, potty training, learning to read, walking, etc)
  • Taking the child to classes, the park, on walks, arranging playdates, reading, and indoor & outdoor play
  • Diaper changes
  • Maintaining the child’s nap, eating, and play schedules
  • Child’s laundry (clothes and bed sheets)
  • Feeding, meal preparation, and cooking for the child
  • Notifying parents when child-related items need to be restocked, clothes are too small, etc.
  • Keeping the home's main spaces and the child’s room clean and tidy (putting away/wiping down toys, cleaning bottles, dishes, and the kitchen after meal-time, tidying his room, emptying diaper pail, doing child's laundry, changing child's sheets, keeping the stroller/diaper bag organized and well-stocked)
  • Flexible and able to stay longer as needed I.E., babysit at night or on weekends
  • Occasionally bathing and bedtime as needed I.E., if parents are out that night
  • Open to summer travel to MI if needed, but not a dealbreaker

Requirements

  • They really desire someone who interacts with the child, is not passive. The nanny is not to be on their phone while with the child, but actively engaged with the child
  • Must be comfortable with stairs as they live in a 5-floor brownstone
  • No driving is required for this role

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly rate is $40-48/hour (approximately $83k-$100k)
    • For a Norland Nanny, they will compensate higher ($130k+)
  • $300 monthly healthcare stipend
  • MetroCard
  • Major holidays off and paid
  • 2 weeks' paid vacation, 1 week of nanny's choosing and 1 week of family's choosing
  • 5 paid sick days annually
