Overview

A warm, loving, down-to-earth Brooklyn-based family of four is seeking a seasoned, full-time nanny to join their team, starting early to mid-December. The family is replacing their long-term nanny of four years, who is retiring.

The position focuses primarily on the care of the younger child, as the older child has a dedicated nanny (also placed by BAHS). However, candidates should be comfortable caring for both children, when needed. The role is based in Brooklyn with part of the summers spent in the Hudson Valley. The role also requires domestic and international travel throughout the year.

The position is live-out while in Brooklyn, with live-in accommodations provided during travel and while upstate. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8am to 7pm, with flexibility. The family is also open to the possibility of a couple of shorter days each week, if preferred by the nanny.

This is a kind, grounded household that values its caregivers, and they hope to welcome someone who will be part of the family for the long term.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will bring a minimum of ten years of professional infant and toddler experience and a warm, intelligent, child-centered approach.
  • The family values a calm, emotionally literate presence, someone who can meet children at their level, encourage curiosity, and reflect on feelings, paired with a down-to-earth, good-humored, and collaborative style.

  • The role requires adaptability, discretion, and the ability to roll with the punches, slipping into established rhythms with ease.

Salary and Benefits

  • The family offers a rate of $35 to $40 per hour, with appropriate overtime, paid time off and holidays, and comfortable accommodations when living in during travel and summer periods upstate.
