Overview

A lovely family in Los Altos Hills, CA is seeking a full-time live-out nanny to join their team. The family has a blended family with 5 children, and are seeking a second Nanny to primarily care for the older 3 children, ages 11-years, 9-years, and 7-years. At times, you will have all 5 children and also may support the youngest two children by themselves. The family asks for flexibility in coverage. The general schedule will be as follows: Week 1 is Monday through Friday, and Week 2 is Monday/Tuesday, Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The general schedule for this position is outlined below, and guarantees 40 hours per week. Additional hours/days will be offered, and the family asks for flexibility for schedule changes, no school days, date nights, and occasional travel. The family is currently only considering candidates who are local to the Bay Area (Peninsula), San Francisco, CA, or within an easy daily commute. The family is looking for someone who is strong, able to work solo and as part of the team, very proactive and communicative, able to create a relationship where the children would respect them, and also have fun and connect with them at their level.

 

Schedule:

  • Week 1: Monday - Friday (Typically Wed/Thurs would be 1pm-9pm, Mon/Tues/Fri probably would be morning/daytime hrs)
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday ( Typically mon/Tues/Fri/Sat 1pm-9pm, Sunday 9am-5pm)
  • Then would repeat, Week 1 schedule, and Week 2 schedule accordingly
  • 2 weekends per month are required based on this schedule

Responsibilities

  • Overall care of the children - caring for the child’s health, well-being, and education, while also being playful and creating an engaging environment
  • Care will be primarily for the oldest 3 children, but you will also be caring for all 5 children at times, or just the youngest 2 children when needed, so flexibility is key
  • Maintaining the schedule and routine, planning active and engaging activities
  • The children are in school from 8am-4pm pm on weekdays during the school year, and camps during the summer. From 12pm-3:15 the Nanny is helping with house duties, organization, kids clothing, closets, meal prep, dishes, light housekeeping, any kid focused tasks
  • Picking up the children from school, taking to afterschool activities
  • Support and follow up with homework. 
  • Coordinating schedules for activities, and travel
  • Coordinating with the other nanny when needed and working as part of a team when both nannies are on together

Qualifications

  • Energetic and vibrant
  • Positive attitude
  • Can engage with the children physically and also connect with them on activities they enjoy such as: outdoor activities, sports, trampoline, Legos, 3-D printing, dance
  • Is able to connect with the children and be "tween focused" and engaged
  • Able to navigate hands on parents and parents that work from home 50% of the time

Requirements

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a professional nanny
  • Must have at least 3 strong references from previous families
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record - family car will be provided
  • Team player with excellent communication
  • Must be comfortable with a large dog, Goldendoodle
  • Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certified, or willing to certify 
  • Must have willingness and readiness to travel with the family, both domestic and internationally, passport ready
  • Availability during kids Holiday schedule (follow Jewish/Hebrew schedule of holidays)
  • Must have ability to cook for children when needed. Can be basic (pasta, snacks, lunch, etc.), but have some ability and knowledge
  • Must not have travel or vacation plans within first 3-6 months of hiring
  • Must be Trustline registered or willing to register
  • Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly rate is $45-$55 hr, based on experience
  • 2 weeks vacation, sick days, holidays
  • Reimbursement of health insurance of Nanny's choice of 50% or up to $500 per month
