Overview

A busy and loving family in Upper East Side, NYC is seeking a proactive and experienced housekeeper/nanny. The general schedule is Monday through Friday, 11am-7pm. The family has 2 children, ages 5 and 8, who are in school during the day, but need care in the afternoon/evenings. This is a live-out position, and the family is only considering local candidates at this time.

Responsibilities

Housekeeping

  • Overall housekeeping of the home, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas
  • Perform daily housekeeping tasks: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, removing trash
  • Organize and maintain closets, pantries, storage spaces; perform seasonal clean-ups
  • Maintain and replenish household supplies promptly, liaise with other staff to coordinate
  • Track and manage household inventory; place and monitor Amazon/online orders
  • Manage laundry: washing, folding, ironing
  • Prepare simple meals for the children and dinners for the family
  • Help prep food and fresh produce
  • Open to traveling with the family is a plus, but not a requirement

Childcare

  • Help with the children after school, and on days when there is no school
  • After school pick-ups, taking them to activities, coordinating with parents
  • Prep snacks and meals, engage with the children

Requirements

  • Proactive, experienced, reliable
  • Housekeeping experience
  • Good with children and have some childcare experience
  • Strong communicator
  • Must know how to iron
  • Cooking skills
  • Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly rate is based on experience, range starts at $35/hr+, annuall gross salary range starting at $72,800+
  • Standard benefits are offered, and the family is open to a health insurance reimbursement
