Overview

A welcoming, private family living in Holland Park is seeking a kind, proactive, and experienced family assistant to support two school-aged children (Yr 5 and Yr 8).  This is a term-time only position, with a usual schedule of Monday through Saturday, 4.30pm-8pm. A strong educational background, particularly within the UK system, is essential to assist the children effectively with homework and academic routines. This role combines light PA duties with a focus on educational support and after-school structure.

Responsibilities

Provide consistent afternoon/early evening support to the family

  • Oversee schoolwork, homework, and academic tasks in line with the UK curriculum
  • Encourage good study habits and time management skills
  • Communicate with schools and tutors where needed
  • Light administrative and organisational support for the family (e.g., diary management, activity planning, wardrobe management, packing)
  • Maintain a calm, nurturing, and structured environment
  • Support the children’s development with a patient, positive, and encouraging approach
  • Ensure full confidentiality and professionalism
  • Promote reading, writing, and French language development

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience working in private households in a PA or nanny role
  • Educated in the UK, with a strong grasp of English and core academic subjects
  • Confident supporting children in Year 5 and Year 8
  • Kind, calm, firm, and emotionally intelligent
  • Strong time management and planning skills
  • Discreet, professional, and team-oriented
  • Highly organised, proactive, and reliable
  • Warm, discreet, and professional
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent references required
