Overview

Loving, co-parenting households in Angels Camp, CA, are seeking a dedicated, nurturing, and reliable full-time career nanny to support the daily rhythms of young children’s lives. The role focuses primarily on caring for two young children (ages 5 and 6 living with mom), while also providing light support to two older children (ages 14 and 15 living with dad) as needed. The two households are minutes away from one another. The general schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm. The ideal candidate will be organized, dependable, nurturing, and flexible – someone who can create a calm, supportive environment and help ensure the children are well cared for and thriving. This is a long-term position, and the candidate should be passionate about being an integral part of the children’s individual and collective journeys through all milestones and moments. Relocation is being offered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide full-time care and supervision for two young children, and at times, 2 teens
  • Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the children and setting them up to thrive
  • Assist with school routines, transportation, and transitions (short walking distance between homes)
  • Support the teen siblings as needed (minimal support; mostly independent)
  • Provide an inclusive environment for the teens (ie: invite them to dinner or make extra snacks in case they want something)
  • Help maintain and form structure and consistent routines
  • Homework assistance and incorporate educational play
  • Foster a nurturing, respectful, and emotionally supportive environment
  • Collaborate closely with both parents
  • Light household duties:
    • Meal planning and preparation, including snacks and school lunches
    • Light cleaning and tidying related to the children, including laundry
  • Occasional help with scheduling or appointments
  • Travel with the family on occasion (all travel within ~90 minutes)
  • Be attuned to each child’s emotional well-being and individual needs
  • Encourage creativity, and provide gentle transitions
  • Drive children to/from activities and appointments
  • Occasional household errands, such as grocery shopping and picking up supplies
  • Consistently model good behavior and show patience and kindness
  • Keep a nanny log and communicate any questions or concerns
  • Proactively research local age-appropriate activities 
  • Monitor and suggest when children need new clothing, supplies, and any other items that may be needed.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Long-term commitment (no job hoppers)
  • Pet-friendly – The family has 3 dogs
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (Personal vehicle to be used. May provide nanny car in the future)
  • Trustline Certified – or willing to get
  • CPR certified or willing to get
  • Must be willing to sign an NDA and undergo a background search
  • Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering flexible pay starting at $45+ per hour, commensurate with experience, relocation support, and a negotiable benefits package.
