Overview

A kind and easy-going couple in Sunnyside, Queens are seeking a local newborn care specialist for nights beginning ASAP. The schedule will be 3 nights per week, for 10 hours per night (8pm-6am). Ideal nights would be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday but there is flexibility on this. The contract will be for approximately 6-8 weeks, with potential to extend. Baby is currently exclusively bottle fed. As new parents, they are looking forward to finding someone who can educate them on baby sleep, feeding, routines, and milestones. 

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
  • Providing practical tools, as well as general support and assistance, where possible (given the nighttime schedule) to create and maintain an effective sleep and feeding schedule that the parents can continue once the NCS leaves
  • Keeping the baby's spaces stocked, organized, and tidy. NCS and baby will have their own designated nursery and space. NCS will be expected to do baby dishes (sanitizing bottles and other baby items). 
  • Provide professional, evidence-based guidance on childhood development as it pertains to baby’s care, while respecting the family’s personal preferences

Qualifications

  • Kind and nurturing 
  • Collaborative, ability to go-with-the-flow while providing structure and consistency 
  • Tidy and organized 

Requirements

  • Must have at least 5 years of experience as a newborn care specialist, with extensive knowledge on sleep training  
  • US passport, Green Card, or EAC 
  • Flu vaccine required
  • Ability to work nights 
  • Have local housing and access to own transportation to/from Queens. This position is not paying for relocation.

Salary and Benefits

$40-50 per hour depending on certifications and experience
