Overview

A wonderful family in Jacksonville, FL, is seeking an experienced, full-time, live-out career nanny/house manager to care for their bright and curious 5-year-old daughter and streamline their lives. This is a long-term, high-commitment role for someone who is deeply passionate about child development and brings a proactive, calm, and organized presence to the home.

The family has a beloved lead nanny who has been with them for years, and the ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player. The family just welcomed a newborn. A nighttime NCS will be on board for at least the first 6 months. The general schedule will be 4 to 4.5 days a week, 40+ hours/week, (12+hour days) with flexibility. The schedule is provided a month in advance. While this is not a ROTA position, candidates with ROTA experience and strong time management skills will thrive in this role. Relocation is being offered, and hiring is immediate.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

 Nanny Duties

  • All aspects of full-charge care
  • Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the child
  • Follow daily guidelines
  • Create and follow a nutritionally balanced meal plan (prep or heat simple meals for feeding)
  • Model healthy behavior across eating habits, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Prepare and manage daily transitions using systems already in place
  • Keep play and learning areas organized and tidy
  • All child-related housekeeping, such as laundry, dishes, and sanitizing of toys
  • Plan developmentally appropriate activities and track milestones
  • Set and reinforce boundaries in a firm but loving manner
  • Limit screen time and focus on interactive, imaginative, educational, or outdoor play
  • Drive to/from activities as needed (must have own vehicle; car seat will be provided)
  • Regularly send updates via group text and family calendar/app
  • Follow end-of-day routine and be consistent (check lists provided)
  • Create a safe environment for the child to thrive and gain a sense of independence

House Manager Duties

 

  • Developing and Implementing Organizational Systems: Creating and maintaining systems for closets, drawers, pantries, storage areas, and other parts of the house to ensure everything has a designated place
  • Some pet care
  • Decluttering Assistance: Working with the employer to declutter and remove unwanted items, potentially coordinating donations or disposals.
  • Inventory Management: Keeping track of household supplies (cleaning products, paper goods, etc.) and restocking when needed. This could extend to managing wardrobes and other personal items.
  • Managing Incoming Purchases: Developing a system for handling new purchases, ensuring they are properly stored and integrated into your existing belongings. This might involve unpacking, organizing, and discarding packaging.
  • Grocery Shopping and Errands: Purchasing paper goods/household supplies and running other household errands.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinating with other service providers like gardeners, repair technicians, or contractors.
  • Scheduling and Appointments: Coordinating household-related appointments and schedules.
  • Light Maintenance:  basic household maintenance tasks or reporting issues that need professional attention.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Regularly scheduling trade professionals to inspect and monitor the mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances) and structural components (foundation, roof, walls, windows, doors) of the homes to identify any existing or potential issues.
  • Preventive Action: Acting swiftly to address repairs to prevent further damage to the property, understanding that delayed action can lead to more extensive and costly issues.

 

Qualifications

  • A true partner who is reliable, trustworthy, enthusiastic, and invested in being a part of young childen's journey
  • Experience in ROTA or long shifts (12-14 hours) and strong stamina for longer days
  • Calm, confident, no ego, supportive team player
  • Works intuitively
  • Has common sense and foresight
  • Exceptional interpersonal and time management skills
  • Proactive and thoughtful approach
  • Extremely organized in all areas
  • Ability to prioritize
  • Creative and self-led, yet able to work cooperatively and respectfully with parents and co-nanny
  • Warm and nurturing
  • Excellent communicator and role model who is organized and adaptable
  • Strong knowledge of child development
  • Familiarity with Montessori or the ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Additional soft skills such as creativity, being musically inclined, or being well-traveled, will be factored in for consideration

 

Requirements

  • Ability to swim (family has a pool)
  • Pet friendly - Family has a dog
  • Prior experience in a similar hybrid role
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Must have own vehicle
  • Up-to-date vaccinations, including Covid booster
  • CPR certified
  • Strong stamina
  • Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $125k+ based on experience and a negotiable, competitive benefits package
