A loving daughter is seeking a warm, discreet, and professional Live-In Companion/Caregiver for her accomplished and independent 80-year-old mother, who resides in Columbus Circle, NY. This is a unique opportunity that blends high-level personal support, basic household management, and genuine companionship—rooted in dignity, respect, and discretion.

The ideal candidate brings a mix of modern caregiving skills, old-world grace, and the ability to maintain structure while supporting an individual who values control, privacy, and autonomy. The role includes travel to Santorini, Greece, for approximately three months each summer, as well as occasional domestic travel (including California). This is a full-time position with active working hours of approximately 5 hours a day. The hours will vary depending on the need. The accommodation consists of a separate suite, with a patio adjacent to the principal’s apartment. This is a long-term position for someone seeking a meaningful role. The family is not offering relocation; local candidates only, please.

• Provide daily companionship with emotional intelligence and respect for privacy
• Assist with household management: oversee vendors, deliveries, and household schedules
• Maintain tidiness, light housekeeping, laundry, and changing linens/making bed
• Coordinate and accompany to medical and personal appointments
• Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and organizing household supplies and ad hoc requests
• Prepare healthy, fresh diverse meals (primarily lunch and dinner)
• Escort and assist with outings and travel, including beach support in Greece
• Welcome guests and ensure the home is warm and well-managed
• Light supervision of cleaning staff and plant care
• Manage and ensure proper prescriptions and schedules, coordinate with doctors, track healthcare schedules, and escort to medical appointments
• Assess supplements and find whole food alternatives
• Help establish and maintain a daily structure and routine
• Calendar management: schedule and coordinate appointments, events, and daily activities
• Assist with hygiene as needed
• Ensure a sense of safety, reliability, and calm presence within the home
• Engage in thoughtful conversation, walks, cultural outings, and recreational activities. The principal values her privacy and alone time; you will need to balance routines to allow for alone time.
• Use discretion and patience as the client navigates possible mild cognitive challenges
• Travel support: Accompany the principal for 3-month summer stays in Greece (separate accommodation provided), assisting with daily needs abroad, as well as driving in Greece. Domestic travel is required as well.

• Professional, warm, respectful, and discreet, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Prior experience in a private household 
• Ability to coordinate healthcare logistics and maintain accurate medication schedules
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
• Patient, kind, and resourceful
• Proactive and intuitive
• Comfortable with light oversight roles and household coordination
• Must be able to recognize and support early signs of dementia or memory loss
• Comfortable with independence and working in a home where the client values privacy
• Greek-speaking is a plus, but not required

• Strong background in caregiving/companion or nursing; LVN, LPN, or similar credentials preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification strongly preferred
• Ability to read the room and quickly attend to the principal without hovering – blend in
• Passport ready with the ability to travel internationally and domestically
• Demonstrated reliability, attentiveness, and commitment to long-term placement
• Must be okay with the principal being a smoker
• Flexibility with the general schedule
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to swim in the ocean and assist the principal
• Legal to work in the U.S.

The family is offering a salary of $125k to $140k commensurate with experience.
