Overview

A private family in Greenwich, CT is seeking a Culinary Planning Consultant to support their household. This role is ideal for someone with a strong culinary background – perhaps a semi-retired chef or someone transitioning out of the restaurant industry who is interested in leveraging their experience in a more consultative capacity. The position is one day a week, 6 to 8 hours, and is flexible to the candidate, but must be consistent. The primary goal is to create efficiency, reduce food waste, and provide strategic planning for meal preparation and household food spending. Looking to hire immediately.

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Household Chef to identify efficiencies within the pantry, kitchen, and household food management systems
  • Design delicious meal plans aligned with the Principal’s tastes and dietary needs, as well as menus for special occasions or events
  • Implement inventory management systems to track and optimize household food usage
  • Some cooking may be required
  • Source high-quality ingredients from local farm-to-table purveyors, to encourage healthier eating and cost savings
  • Occasional grocery shopping
  • Creatively use ingredients already on hand and develop thoughtful weekly meal plans
  • Conduct weekly assessments and adjust planning models as needed
  • Provide feedback and reporting on inventory, spending, and planning outcomes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Requirements

  • Must be able to work one day a week consistently
  • Previous experience in kitchen management would be a plus
  • Must understand cooking at a high level in a private home
  • Comfortable signing an NDA and receiving a background check
  • Food handler’s certificate preferred
  • Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

This is a 1099 position, and the family is offering $600 to $800 per day DOE
