Overview

A warm and welcoming couple in Denver, Colorado is expecting their first child at the end of December. They are seeking an experienced Night Newborn Care Specialist to provide overnight care, focusing on creating healthy sleep habits. This role will run for approximately three months, with a schedule of 7pm to 7am, five to seven nights per week. The family is unsure what they will need specifically at this moment; this is their first child. 

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in sleep training and confident in supporting first-time parents. Experience as a doula, with the ability to provide services at the birth, would be a bonus. The family has one small, friendly dog. Comfortable off-site living accommodations can be provided when not on duty.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee effective sleep training strategies
  • Manage night feedings and diaper changes
  • Provide attentive and nurturing newborn care throughout the night
  • Offer professional, evidence-based guidance while respecting family preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping related to baby care, including bottle and pump sanitation
  • Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive overnight environment

Qualifications

  • Warm, nurturing, and empathetic
  • Experienced with infants and confident in providing full-charge care
  • Communicative, emotionally intelligent, and a team player
  • Able to work collaboratively with parents and other caregivers
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a calm demeanor
  • Comfortable in a pet-friendly home
  • Up to date on Tdap, childhood vaccines and annual flu vaccinations
  • Open-minded and respectful of family’s parenting style

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Proven experience with newborn care and sleep training
  • Track record of successful sleep training outcomes
  • Availability for the full three-month contract
  • Professional, kind, and respectful demeanor

Salary and Benefits

  • W-2 position
  • $40-$60/hour, depending on experience
  • Comfortable off-site housing available when off duty
