Overview

This position will be full-time for a family based in New York City with a summer location in the Hamptons. This person will have extensive knowledge of New York City and the surrounding areas to include New Jersey (primarily Teterboro Airport) and Long Island. Must be discreet, a polished professional, and maintain a low profile while around the family and any locations they attend.

Responsibilities

  • Driving the principles to and from school, work, meetings, the airport, and appointments daily, while ensuring safety and security at all times.
  • Preparing the routing, directions, and additional due diligence in advance to ensure the most efficient and timely transportation         
  • Communicating with all appropriate staff members, making sure all the needs of the principal are being met on an ever-changing calendar/schedule.
  • Assisting all principals in and out of all pick-up and destination points upon their requests if needed.
  • Accounting for the insurance, registration, and maintenance of the vehicle/s; ensuring all records are up to date and all services are recorded.
  • Maintaining the vehicle/s at all times, i.e., gas levels, cleanliness inside and out, and comfort for all principals.
  • Be prepared to attend to any errands or requests at a moment's notice due to the principal's ever-changing schedule and/or needs.
  • Have the ability and instinctive reactions to any unsafe condition/s or travel and make immediate decisions for alternative movement and clearly communicate to the principal your reasoning.
  • The ability to work in tandem or opposite to the other driver, making sure all the needs of the principal are met. Must be a team player and work together for a seamless shift/s.
  • Must know private FBO flight operations and procedures. Maintain communication with private flight crew for travel movements, locations, arrivals, and departures.

Qualifications

  • Must be discreet and professional at all times when around principals, family, and all staff members. PROFESSIONALISM IS A MUST!
  • The ability to multitask and handle situations under pressure.
  • The ability to appropriately respond to and mitigate any threats or inconveniences that may occur.
  • Be prepared to remain and stand for long periods of time during a work shift.
  • Knowing security systems, i.e., access control, life safety, and CCTV, is a plus.
  • Continually maintain situational awareness at all times.
  • Work closely with the other driver, making sure all shifts and requests are covered. Shift times, days, and days off will be worked out amongst the two drivers to ensure no inconvenience to the principals.
  • Having been certified or certified in current standing procedures for CPR/AED/First Aid.
  • Must have general computer proficiency.
  • Having the uncanny ability and instincts to anticipate the principal's needs and wants.

Requirements

  • Pet Friendly
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement and or previous military, executive protection, corporate, or physical security experience.

  • Defensive and Offensive driver training/certification or proficient experience in this area.

  • Must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check based on the principals' expectations.

  • Must possess a valid, stellar current and past driving record and successfully complete a driving record background check.

  • Must be able to speak fluent English.

  • Must be a citizen of the United States or legally able to be employed in the United States

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering:

  • $50+ per hour DOE
