Overview

A busy executive in the Castro neighborhood of San Francisco is seeking an outstanding and innovative chef to work approximately one week a month for the next year, starting the first week of September. The client appreciates multi-ethnic cuisine and diverse cooking including French, European, and Japanse for example. They enjoy high-quality, ingredient-forward meals. When in residence, the schedule would be between 4-7 days, lunch and dinner, including prep, serving, and clean-up. There will be a housekeeper to assist. 

 

The first week of September is set, however, other months the dates may be unknown until a week or two before.

Responsibilities

  • Cooking lunch and dinner for 1 adult principal and often 2-3 additional guests/housemates. 
  • Grocery shopping including farmer's market and restocking of the pantry. 
  • Keeping the kitchen tidy and cleaning up before leaving. The chef will be expected to serve the food and a housekeeper will assist. 

Qualifications

  • The ideal chef would be knowledgeable in French, European and Japanese cuisine, with an eye for making healthy dishes that do not compromise on taste.
  • The ideal candidate is clean, tidy, and easy-going. The kitchen/living space is open concept 
  • Team-player who works well with others in a busy house. This is a fully staffed home and everyone works together 
  • Flexible and excellent communicator

Requirements

  • The chef will need to be very organized and flexible as the client often gives 15 minute notice before wanting to eat 
  • Legal to work in the US
  • Commuting distance/already local to San Francisco. Housing is not provided 

Salary and Benefits

Due to the unique nature of the schedule and flexibility needed, pay is highly competitive
