Overview

A discreet family in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking two superlative ROTA nannies for their 6-month-old, starting after Labor Day/mid-September. The schedule will be 2 weeks on/off (this may flex a little when the family travels), and a guest house will be provided to candidates on duty. Candidates should live out when they are off-duty. Fly-in/ fly-out will be considered for exceptional candidates who are preferably based in CA. This is a fully-staffed, high-end but informal household. The family values privacy and professionalism, and candidates should be comfortable signing an NDA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional care for the child, ensuring safety and well-being
  • Be willing to tag-team/ collaborate with mom, who is SAH and will be in and out of the home throughout the day. As such, candidates must be flexible - e.g. there will be some days where the role will be more of a “spot check,” where mom will take the baby out herself during the day. Candidates MUST be comfortable not having the baby full-time during day - mom is involved and at home
  • All typical nursery duties will apply - managing baby’s laundry, keeping play areas tidy, keeping on top of supplies, removing old toys/ wardrobe items that no longer fit, etc.
  • Feeding prep (experience with Brezza formula maker & bottle sterilizer is a plus!)

  • Organizing diaper bag daily, cleaning bottles, keeping nursery tidy, baby laundry, managing baby trash

  • Alerting parents when formula and/or baby food needs restock

  • Alerting parents when clothes are outgrown; help organize/store keepsakes

  • Alerting parents when baby soap, lotion/creams/ointment, medication, diapers, wipes, etc need restock

  • Light errands: grocery store, pharmacy, dry cleaning pickup, UPS/ Fedex/Post office runs

  • Travel (mostly domestically, sometimes last-minute) with the family (to Florida (4 x per year), the Hamptons (for 1 x month in the Summer), Mexico, etc.)

  • Handle all baby travel prep (suitcase, supplies) - the baby sits with mom on flights

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 8 years' verifiable experience
  • Have a clean driving record and current license, and be comfortable driving in L.A
  • Candidates should have an educational background in Child Development/ ECE or another relevant field.
  • Former teachers, Educators, Governesses, and seasoned candidates with decades of relevant experience, superlative references, and longevity are also welcome to apply
  • Additional skills, such as languages, the ability to play a musical instrument, or specific sports, etc. are highly desirable
  • Prior experience with children under 1 year of age

Requirements

  • US passport, Green Card, or EAC
  • Must be experienced and confident travelers with babies/ children (and well-versed in packing and organization)
  • Be warm, positive, easygoing, professional, and adaptable - not territorial or possessive of the baby

  • Be a team player who works collaboratively and harmoniously with other household staff

  • Be resourceful & proactive, and able to anticipate needs

  • Be able to read the room - know when to step up and step back when the family is having intimate family moments
  • Candidates must be CPR/First Aid certified and be non-smokers
  • Candidates must be up to date on all childhood vaccinations (especially RSV)
