A lovely family in Tribeca is seeking a Mandarin or Spanish-speaking governess/family assistant for their two children, ages 5 and 2. There are several schedule options for this role- the family is open to 40-50 hours Monday through Friday- the candidate can start as early as 9:30am or as late as 12pm, and the end time can be 7:30 or 8pm. There should be some flexibility for additional hours during school holidays or for an occasional date night. Any schedule changes will be communicated well in advance. Both children will be in school full-time, so candidates should be comfortable handling family assistant duties during school hours. 

• Transporting the children home from school and to extracurriculars
• Proactively planning outings and playdates
• Handling child-related organization and tidying
• Errands and grocery shopping
• Preparing simple but healthy meals and snacks for the children
• Incorporating education into all aspects of daily life 
• Keeping in communication about daily plans
• Travel with the family as needed 
• Coordinating schedule, researching activities, and making appointments 
• Promoting life skills such as engaging in conversation with adults, hosting friends, and keeping belongings tidy and in good order

• Comfortable working as a team with a full-time housekeeper and a work-from-home parent
• Focused on teaching life skills and social decorum and manners 
• Proactive and able to be full-charge- parents are not interested in micromanaging
• Energetic and engaging
• Developmentally aware, and able to provide a stimulating and enriching environment 

• Experience with childhood education- teaching credentials, college degree, etc. 
• Experience with multiple young children 
• Driving is highly desired but NOT required
• Occasional travel- domestic and international, up to a week
• Willing to work at their other home in NJ on occasion, including for up to a week in the summer 
• History of longevity, and looking for a long-term commitment 
• Mandarin or Spanish speaking

• $40-55/hr.
