Overview

A warm and welcoming family of four in Hudson Yards is seeking a long-term, part-time nanny to join their household team. The family has a 4-month-old son and a 2-year-old daughter, and they are looking for someone who can provide loving, consistent care during weekends and Friday evenings. The schedule for this position will be Fridays from 5pm to 10pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 8pm.
 
Their ideal candidate is detail-oriented, engaging, and brings positive energy and warmth into the home. Strong English skills are important for the family. The family would love someone who is proactive, communicative, and comfortable being part of a collaborative household environment. A willingness to travel with the family over time is also essential. The nanny must be dog-friendly, as the family has a small Yorkie. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Newborn care, including changing diapers, washing bottles, overseeing naps and bedtime, and facilitating developmentally appropriate activities throughout the day
  • Assistance with older child, including supervising meal, hygiene, and bedtime routines
  • Child-related laundry
  • Keeping children's rooms and areas tidy and organized
  • Light meal prep (packing school lunch, preparing fruits/veggies, making baby food)
  • Planning games, activities, and outings
  • Transporting older children to and from extracurriculars 
  • Engaging the children with enriching activities (reading, games etc.)
  • Help with sleep training

Qualifications

  • The ability to speak Mandarin is a huge plus
  • The ability to speak Spanish is a huge plus
  • Swimmer

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a nanny
  • Warm and caring, with a playful energy and high level of engagement
  • Extremely reliable and punctual
  • Understanding of household boundaries as the family is quite private
  • Goal-oriented- should enjoy setting goals for the child and executing those plans
  • Experience with early school-aged children and infants
  • Background in childhood education/development would be a huge benefit
  • Fluency in a second language would be a huge bonus! 

Salary and Benefits

  • $35-40/hr gross
  • Vacation 2 weeks- 1 week coordinated with the family's time off
  • 5 days sick days/personal days
