Overview

A warm and welcoming family in Denver is seeking a full-time nanny to care for their newborn daughter, who is expected to arrive at the end of December. This role offers flexibility depending on the candidate’s background. While mom is home for the first four months, responsibilities will be split between nanny care and family assistant tasks.

If the candidate is also a doula, the family would appreciate having doula support for the birth and postpartum periods during regular working hours. The family will also have a Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) for overnight shifts, so no overnights will be required. They are seeking someone confident with infant care- ideally with NCS or doula experience- who can grow with the family long term. The family has a very sweet small dog (mutt, large Yorkie mix) who loves people.

Start Date: January (if the candidate is also a doula, the family would like to hire before the due date at the end of December)

Schedule

  • Core Hours: 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., 45 hours/week
  • Flexibility for occasional date nights or adjusted hours
  • First 4 months: Parental leave with mom at home and involved
  • After parental leave: Increased independent time with the baby as parents return to work

Living Accommodations

Two live-in options available:

  1. Primary: Private 1-bedroom, 1-bath unit detached from the home with its own kitchen, laundry, and separate garage.
  2. Alternative: A bedroom in a second home 8 blocks away (4 bed/3 bath), shared with the family’s mother (who occupies the main floor).

Preference for live-in, but open to local live-out as well.

Responsibilities

Childcare

  • Newborn/infant care, including feedings, naps, hygiene, and developmental milestones 
  • Collaborate with parents on routines, gentle parenting approaches, and evolving parenting philosophies
  • Engage the baby with age-appropriate, stimulating activities
  • Support travel (domestic & international) with the baby
  • Baby’s laundry

Family Assistant Tasks

  • Possible family laundry 
  • Dishes and kitchen tidy-up
  • Occasional errands and vendor management
  • Light pet care (optional dog walks)

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with infants, newborns, and toddlers
  • Experience as a NCS, doula, or with infant sleep support strongly preferred
  • Kind, approachable, and flexible personality
  • Comfortable with dogs
  • Gentle parenting experience a plus
  • Comfortable being around someone with dementia(the grandmother has dimentia and is around often) 
  • Strong communication skills and proactive approach

Requirements

  • Confident driver with a clean driving record (nanny car provided)
  • CPR & First-Aid Certified (family will provide reimbursement if it needs to be updated) 
  • Passport-ready; open to domestic and international travel
  • Up-to-date on standard childhood vaccinations
  • Flu vaccine preferred but not required
  • Note this family highly values confidentiality, and no social media postings of family or child

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000–$130,000 DOE
