Responsibilities will be split between 2 x households, one of which includes care of a 10-year-old boy (see correlating responsibilities below). The other household belongs to the son’s grandmother, and a comprehensive list of responsibilities will be provided to candidates upon request, but will mainly pertain to food prep, keeping the household tidy and organized, laundry, running errands, feeding plants, etc.
Daily
- Tidy and organize the child’s room
- Pick up the child from the bus
- Make a snack and put vitamins together
- Clean lunchbox and water bottle
- Assist with homework, especially math homework
- Play with a child (no screens)
- Oversee as the child cleans up
- Oversee play dates
- Get the child ready for bed and ready for the next day (making sure his homework or library books are in the backpack)
- Take out trash, recycling, and green waste when full
- Open packages and take out the packaging
Weekly
- Wash, fold, and put away laundry for the family on Monday and Thursday
- Water plants 1 x a week
- Clean and organize the child’s toys and books (priority is for him to clean up his own messes, but sometimes some extra help is needed)
- Tidy up the child’s clothes
- Check on the child’s snacks and add to the grocery list if any are low
Monthly/Sometimes
- Pack the child for trips.
- Keep track of the child’s medicines and vitamins, and let the family know when to order more.
- Fill soaps and lotions around the house
- Organize the child’s clothes and pull out any worn or too-small clothes
- Family errands (examples: dry cleaning, packages, donations, light grocery shop)
- Help to decorate and take down decorations for holidays
- Help prepare for parties
- Organizing jobs (pantry, garage, storage, closet)
- Occasional evening babysitting for parent date nights, work, etc.
- Gift wrapping
