Overview

A wonderful couple based in Scarsdale is seeking a warm, loving, and engaging full-time nanny for their son, 7-months. The position is to start as soon as possible. Mom works from home full-time, and dad splits his time between home and the office.

 

The family have a second home in Pennsylvania and would like the nanny to travel with them. They usually visit 2-3 times over the summer months for up to two weeks at a time, and they travel at other times throughout the year too for long weekends.

 

The schedule would be Monday through Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, with a guarantee of 42.5 hours. This is a live-out position, but when in Pennsylvania the nanny will have their own bedroom and bathroom.

Responsibilities

  • Care and engagement of the baby including but not limited to sleep, feeding, and routine management, enrichment in age-appropriate activities that foster physical, social, and emotional growth both in and out of the home
  • Light housekeeping related to the child, which will include keeping his spaces organized, clean, and tidy, managing his laundry, and sanitizing any toys or feeding items
  • Managing an inventory with regard to his items (diapers, well-fitting clothes, developmentally appropriate toys, etc.)
  • Communicating with the parents about milestones, activities, temperament, and needs and collaborating with them on his care
  • Planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities that keep him busy and encourage his curiosity and creativity (outings to parks, museums, classes and projects, games, and playdates in and out of the home)
  • Preparing fresh, healthy meals
  • Preparing, and cleaning his bottles

  • Interest in a long-term role and to grow with the family
  • Happy to work as a team with hands-on parents
  • Recent experience with children of this age
  • Engaging with children
  • Strong leadership and communication skills 

Requirements

  • Fluent English speaking
  • CPR certified, if not the family are happy to cover the cost
  • Up-to-date with vaccinations, including TDAP. Or a willingness to be vaccinated, and the family will cover the cost
  • Driver's license and clean driving record 
  • US work authorization
  • Fully willing to travel as needed 
  • Willing to travel with the family for up to two weeks to their second home in Pennsylvania. The typical schedule would remain the same with weekends off
