Seeking a top-notch housekeeper/cook or domestic couple to support two principals (and sometimes their extended family) near Dorchester, Dorset.  The ideal scenario would be to find a domestic couple, however the family are also open to a live-in housekeeper/cook, although this may not be for a long-term, permanent position.The usual schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 or 9 hours per day, however during busier periods hours are likely to be longer and help may be needed at weekends.  Flexibility is therefore essential (and time off will be offered in lieu).

• Housekeeping for the large 12-bedroom home, to include all cleaning, tidying, organising, and deep-cleaning
• Laundry and ironing
• General running of the household
• Cooking a light lunch and a 2-course dinner daily for the principals
• Meal preparation and service when entertaining and when extended family are in residence
• General care and walking for a friendly black labrador

Extra duties if domestic couple:

• Monitoring the home, performing minor household maintenance and repairs as needed

• Maintaining a fleet of cars

• Driving duties, mainly local but occasional airport runs or longer trips

• Some exterior maintenance and general upkeep, including cleaning, sweeping etc

• The principals prefer candidates be confident drivers with a clean record

• Previous experience and longevity in similar roles is essential

• Candidates should be comfortable in a casual or semi-formal environment, able to 'read the room' and maintain professional boundaries

• Applicants should be confident cooks, able to prepare fresh, healthy and varied dishes to dinner party standard  

• Flexible team-players are preferred, the role will suit an active, positive, friendly people who bring a 'can-do' approach with a calm, discreet demeanour

• Accommodation included (self-contained 2-bedroom apartment in one wing of the home)
• Use of car for business-related errands
