A warm, kind, and busy family transitioning from a hybrid NYC/South Salem lifestyle to living full-time in South Salem, NY is seeking a part-time nanny/mother’s helper to help bring more structure and ease to their daily routines. The children are ages 4.5 and 7, and the ideal candidate will be an organized, proactive, self-starter who can jump right in. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 1pm to 7pm. This is a live-out position, and only local candidates will be considered.

• Always ensuring the safety and well-being of the children
• All aspects of full-charge care
• General tidying, dishes, and light cleaning (deep cleaning handled by separate service)
• Family laundry mostly child-related: washing, folding, and putting away
• Weekly grocery shopping and pantry/fridge organization
• Meal prep and serve children’s meals and snacks
• Schedule and liaise with household vendors (e.g. pest control, handyman, oversee tutors)
• Greet children off the school bus (driveway pick-up) and oversee the after-school routine
• Help children transition from school to afternoon enrichment, activities, or homework
• Occasionally drive children to/from activities 
• Pack school lunches, organize backpacks, and prepare for the next school day

• Ability to bring structure to a busy, less-structured household
• Comfortable with work-from-home parents – know when to step in and when to step away
• Familiar with gentle parenting and able to thoughtfully guide children through big feelings
• Warm, upbeat personality with strong communication skills
• Enjoys being a part of a family’s life, but maintains professionalism
• Collaborative, but can also work autonomously
• Trustworthy, dependable, and proactive
• Ability to maintain household systems and routines
• Enjoys incorporating arts, crafts, and learning through play

• Prior experience in a similar role
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Flexible mindset and happy to pitch in and pivot as needed
• CPR/First Aid certification, not required but would be a plus
• Ability to swim is not required, but would be a plus
• Legal to work in the U.S.

The family is offering $40+ per hour, commensurate with experience.
