Overview

A kind couple in the Hamptons is seeking a knowledgeable and supportive weekend nanny for their baby born January 2025 to start the first weekend of July.

The nanny will typically arrive by Friday evening and leave on Sunday afternoon/evening. The schedule will typically be a combination of daytime and evening hours such as Friday night 6-9pm, Saturday 10am-3pm plus evening babysitting and Sunday 9-4pm. The family is flexible to accommodate train/transit schedules that work best for the nanny. A private bedroom and bathroom in the home will be provided. 

 

Responsibilities

Full infant care including: 

  • Changing diapers; restocking the changing area with diapers/wipes
  • Baby Laundry - wash, fold, put away 
  • Feeding baby and preparing bottles; helping with introducing solids and making purees as the baby gets older
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and prepping breast pump parts 
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and prepping bottles/pacifiers
  • Developmentally appropriate play and interaction including singing and reading  
  • Maintain feeding and sleeping schedule
  • Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
  • Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care, while respecting the family’s personal preference 

Qualifications

  • An easygoing and warm attitude and be able to strike a balance between providing suggestions to parents and following their lead
  • Organized and tidy 
  • Happy to work as a team with involved parents 
  • Water safe as the home does have a pool. The nanny will not be expected to swim with the baby though. 
  • If it is a good fit, the family is open to the nanny continuing on for weekend coverage when they are back in the city. This is not a requirement though. 

Requirements

  • Minimum of at least 5 years' verifiable experience working with infants
  • Current CPR/first aid certification, or willing to re-certify before start date
  • US passport, Green Card or EAC 
  • Up to date on Tdap and MMR vaccinations or willing to update 

Salary and Benefits

$35-45 per hour 

Transportation costs reimbursed (train/Jitney ticket or mileage reimbursement if driving)
