Overview

A family on Long Island is seeking two full-time live-in nannies to provide care for their 6-year-old son with Autism. This is a live-in role while on duty, and each nanny will rotate based on an agreed schedule. The primary focus is on the 6-year-old, who is sweet, smart, and non-verbal. Nannies will also be cross-trained to occasionally assist with the infant, but never responsible for both children at once. Each child has dedicated caregivers for every shift. They also have a small, older dog but no pet care is required.

 Schedule & Hours

  • Daytime hours: 40 hours/week
  • Overnight care (7pm–7am): Paid via a flat stipend of $200–$250/night
    (The child typically sleeps through the night; occasional wake-ups may occur.)

Weekday Nanny Schedule Options:

  • Option 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday → Off Friday at 7am
  • Option 2: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday → Off Friday at 7am

Weekend Nanny Schedule Options:

  • Option 1: Friday, Saturday, Sunday → Off Monday at 7am
  • Option 2: Saturday, Sunday, Monday → Off Tuesday at 7am

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the child’s safety and well-being at all times
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Prepare organic purees and transition to solids as the baby grows
  • Foster a nurturing, joyful, and developmentally supportive environment
  • Organize and tidy child-related areas
  • Monitor and encourage developmental milestones through appropriate activities

Qualifications

  • Strong, long-term nanny experience with excellent references
  • Experience working with neurodiverse children is a plus
  • Detail-oriented and highly clean
  • Professional and career-focused nanny with ability to set clear boundaries
  • Comfortable in a fully staffed home
  • Excellent communication and ability to work on a team
  • Familiarity with structured household routines
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • Polished, professional, and confident
  • Strong swimmer preferred but not required

Requirements

  • CPR & First Aid certified (or willing to obtain ASAP)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record
  • Must own a car, no public transportation
  • Up to date on all vaccinations (including Tdap, Flu)
  • Legal to work in the U.S.
  • Non-smoker

Salary and Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $35–$45/hour (for daytime hours)
  • Flat overnight rate: $200–$250/night
  • 2 weeks PTO
  • Sick leave provided
