Overview

A family of three in Forest Hills, Washington, DC, is seeking a live-in German native-speaking career nanny to join their family in caring for their three-month-old son. The schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am-6:30pm. Flexibility for later hours or occasional weekend help is a plus!  The family has a flexible start date but would prefer someone in June.   They are seeking someone who is looking for longevity.  You must be a native German speaker for this role!

Responsibilities

  • Early childhood development
  • Five years of prior experience with infants and toddlers
  • Seeking longevity
  • Open to errands and household tasks while baby sleeps such as:
    • Light cooking and meal prep
    • Laundry
    • Home stocked with groceries and supplies (done online)
    • Light housekeeping
  • Travel packing, organizing, researching activities
  • Driving to/from activities. Family car provided when working.
  • Swimming - Swim lessons, pool and ocean activities
  • Meeting developmental milestones
  • Encourages healthy emotional attachment
  • Fosters curiosity and free play
Note: Live-In Accommodations: Private bedroom and bathroom with separate ground-floor kitchen, almost exclusively for nanny with a separate ground-floor entrance. 
 
Note: Travel to Germany is required for August every year, for the full month. In addition, 4-6 weeks of domestic/international travel where the family would love the nanny to join when possible.

Requirements

  • Legal to work in the US
  • Fluent in German - Native German speaker preferred
  • Passport ready - travel several times a year required
  • Clean and valid driver's license
  • Comfortable swimming
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID, flu, TDAP, MMR, and all other standard vaccines recommended by the CDC 
  • Prior experience with infants into the toddler stage
  • Early Childhood education is a strong plus!

Salary and Benefits

The family is seeking $35-40/hr+ and offering paid time off and a medical stipend.
