Overview

A travel-loving multi-generational family seeks an exceptional nanny/family assistant to join their household staff team. This role will primarily focus on caring for a 2-year-old and 1-month-old baby, while also providing family assistance support. The position begins immediately upon finding the right candidate. The ideal candidate will join a collaborative household team that includes mother's helpers/housekeepers and another nanny who cares for a 6-month-old cousin. Together, the nanny team will support all three children, requiring flexibility, excellent teamwork, and communication skills.

The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9:30 or 10am-5:30 or 6pm, with flexibility needed for additional hours and longer shifts during travel, especially over the summer. The position will be live-out while at their Los Gatos house but live-in with private accommodations during travel and at their other homes. The position is open to both local and exceptional relocation candidates. The parents hope to find a true career professional who can engage their child in developmentally appropriate and educational activities and is able to support them with a range of assistant tasks. 

 

Team environment

This household includes multiple family members and staff. The nanny/FA will:

  • Work alongside another nanny as part of a childcare team managing three children
  • Collaborate daily with mother's helpers, housekeepers, and other staff members
  • Interact with various family members who live in the residence and are actively involved with the children
  • Navigate a busy household where different staff may report to different family members
  • Need to be comfortable in a social environment with frequent hand-offs and tag-teaming childcare

Responsibilities

Childcare Responsibilities (approximately 50% of role):

  • Create a warm, nurturing environment while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Plan and facilitate developmentally appropriate activities and educational experiences
  • Research and coordinate local adventures and outings for enrichment
  • Provide transportation to activities (excellent driving skills required)
  • Coordinate schedules, manage appointments
  • Assist with meal preparation for children
  • Adapt to caring interchangeably for the 2-year-old, 6-month old, and infant as the baby grows (as part of a nanny team)

Family Assistant Responsibilities (approximately 50% of role):

  • Vendor management and coordination
  • Running errands (dry cleaning, shopping, etc.)
  • Travel planning and reservations
  • Driving principal to and from appointments
  • General family support tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Career professional nanny with family assistant experience
  • Excellent understanding of child development milestones and age-appropriate activities. Experience with both toddlers and infants.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment with multiple staff members
  • No ego - willing to help wherever needed while maintaining professional boundaries. 
  • Excellent social skills, ability to read the room. Positive, proactive attitude
  • Organizational prowess and attention to detail, very precise. Excellent time management.
  • Ability to flexibly pivot between childcare and assistant tasks based on family needs
  • Very tech-savvy (comfortable with Baby Connect, Google Calendar, scheduling apps)
  • Adaptable problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments
  • Grounded and practical approach to childcare. The parents like Dr. Becky and a more respectful and firm parenting style (not permissive)

Requirements

  • Travel ready: experienced traveling with families and current passport/able to travel internationally 
  • Driver’s license and clean driving record (nanny car provided)
  • Confident swimming skills and water safety knowledge
  • Professional who knows how to maintain boundaries and able to navigate a fully-staffed house
  • Easy going personality, able to roll with changes, and adapt quickly to different environments 
  • Infant/child CPR and First-Aid certifications (or be willing to update them ASAP)
  • Trustline certified, or willing to certify 
  • No animal allergies and comfortable being around animals including farm animals (horses, etc.) No pet care required.
  • Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

$45+ per hour plus applicable overtime 

Health reimbursement, two weeks PTO, sick days, paid holidays, guaranteed hours
