Overview

A lower Manhattan family is seeking an experienced part-time live-out weekend nanny for their 3 children under the age of 6. The schedule is flexible, but they are open to guaranteeing a minimum of 25 hours from Friday-Sunday (worked hours likely closer to 30). If the candidate is looking for more hours and are able to work other days, they can entertain that as well. The role starts as soon as a great fit is found. The family values someone who is extremely motivated, warm and upbeat, enjoys being active and outdoors in nature, and takes initiative with the children and around the house. They do need flexibility for the nanny to hire to come 1-2 weekends/month with them to their home upstate. Options for travel outside of these days (and for longer periods) are there as well, if the candidate has flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing loving care to the children
  • Preparing the children's meals
  • Tidying up/cleaning as it relates to the children
  • Children's laundry
  • Adhering to and helping to facilitate planned schedules, school drop offs, pick ups and participating in classes are expected, as well as partnering alongside other caregivers, house staff members, and parents.

Qualifications

  • The ability to speak Tagalog is a plus

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience caring for multiple children as a full-time nanny in a private home
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Discretion and professionalism
  • Flexibility, interest and ability to travel domestically and internationally as well as assist with occasional overnights as needed. Possible travel over some holidays and supporting the family with date nights/work events is desired.
  • A well-suited demeanor for working with children preschool and school-aged children
  • Experience with educational milestones
  • Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence.
  • Education or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
  • Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to childcare (meal prep, cooking, organizing, laundry, etc.).
  • Interest in working in a partnership/alongside with other caregivers and Mother in the home
  • A professional appearance and dress
  • Fluency in both oral and written English

Salary and Benefits

  • $40 per hour on the books
