A warm, kind family based between Montclair, NJ, and Chelsea, NYC, is seeking a temp-perm nanny for their newborn. They already have a newborn care specialist who works nights, as well as a travel nanny, so there is a robust support system in place.

The role will start as a 6-month contract and switch to a permanent contract if everyone feels like it’s a good fit. The schedule will be a guaranteed 30 or 40 hours per week, depending on the candidate’s preference. Hours can also be fleixble to suit the candidate. The family have 2 primary residences - one in Montclair, NJ, and one in Chelsea, NYC. This role will be based in NJ during the week and typically in the City on weekends. The family will cover the candidate’s travel costs to NJ, if they are based in the City. The general expectation is that the candidate will work 3-5 days in NJ during the week and then an occasional Saturday in the City. Longer-term, the family are yet to decide if they will base themselves more permanently in NJ or the City, but they will cover the relevant travel costs for the nanny.

The family have a few trips lined up where they won’t need the nanny to travel with them, so they would love for the candidate to house/pet sit at their home in NJ on those trips (June 14-21 and July 11-20). Candidates may use the family car and all amenities are within walking distance.

• Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the child at all times
• Providing a safe and stimulating environment for the child so that mom can cook/ go to the gym/ run errands etc. with total peace of mind
• Planning fun, age-appropriate activities for their daughter, both indoors and outdoors.

• Must have at least 5 years' verifiable experience
• Must be easygoing, flexible, and friendly, with a sense of humor
• Must be pet friendly - the family have a 45lb rescue who they adore. While there is no pet care on a regular basis there are a few trips the family are taking this year where they will not need the nanny (they already have a travel nanny), but would love for her to house-sit/ pet-sit instead, if the candidate is open to doing this.

• US passport, Green Card or EAC 
• COVID vaccinated, and up to date on Flu/RSV/Tdap and MMR vaccinations

• $40-$45+/hr + OT and prorated industry standard benefits. HRA offered if the role converts to a perm scenario.
