Overview

A professional couple is looking for a long-term, full-time, live-in nanny, in the Dupont Circle area of Washington, D.C. The role starts ideally by the first week of May.  The family includes the mother, father, 4-year-old girl, and 2-year-old boy. Other staff includes another full-time live-out nanny and a housekeeper who does the deep cleaning. The schedule for this role will be about 44 hours per week with Thursday and Friday off. One weekend per month, the existing nanny will work Saturday/Sunday and the live-in nanny will work Thursday/Friday to give the live-in nanny one weekend off per month. The family is willing to be flexible with the schedule. Living-in can be 100% or just during the nanny's work week. The family will relocate the right candidate. Accommodations are a private bedroom/bathroom in their townhouse.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring children's safety and well-being at all times
  • Creating a stimulating and joyful environment for them to grow

  • Planning outings and adventures in the city and beyond

  • Child-related tidying and organizing

  • Preparing nutritious, fun meals

  • The family has a housekeeper but would like the candidate to be a proactive partner in the household (ie. emptying the dishwasher if full) 

  • Work well with full-time live-out nanny 

Qualifications

  • This person should be friendly, easy-going, and emotionally competent. 
  • Live-in experience a major plus

Requirements

  • This person must have several years of experience as a nanny, in a private residence.
  • The nanny must be active, and engaging with the children- nurturing their growth and development with age-appropriate activities.
  • Must be able to drive and swim
  • MUST be able to work 3 weekends a month

Salary and Benefits

  • $35-$45 per hr plus the family is offering a monthly medical stipend, PTO, paid sick/personal days, main federal holidays paid, and a yearly bonus.
  • Up to $2k in relocation assistance
