Overview

A mature private couple is seeking a part-time executive housekeeper for their secondary residence in New York City on the Upper East Side.  The couple visits about twice per month for a few days at a time, during which the candidate will need to be fully flexible to work longer days, including weekend days if applicable. The schedule will vary but will guarantee a minimum of 32 hours per week, typically Monday through Thursday unless the couple is in town over the weekend. This is a formal household with high-end furnishings, art, and antiques. There will be no other staff in the home unless the principals are in town visiting, when the chef will accompany them.

Responsibilities

When the couple is not in residence:

  • Maintenance and deep cleaning of a high-end home
  • Accepting mail or packages
  • Running simple errands

When the couple is in residence additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the chef in serving and clean-up at dinner parties or hosting guests when they are in town
  • Working in coordination with the principals to prepare for their arrivals
  • Laundry and ironing

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is smart, detail-oriented, and discreet, with a flexible and proactive personality

Requirements

  • Dog-friendly (the family has several small dogs so the housekeeper must be comfortable interacting with them)
  • Extremely detail-oriented, meticulous, and professional
  • Up-to-date COVID vaccine
  • Within commuting distance to the Upper East side
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working as a housekeeper in private homes

Salary and Benefits

The salary range offered is $35 to $50 per hour and the rate will reflect the experience and skillset of the hired candidate
