Overview

An active, professional young family in the South Harlem neighborhood of New York is seeking a part-time nanny for their 19-month-old daughter. The ideal candidate will want to grow with the family and be open to possibly transitioning to full-time. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 7:30pm with some flexibility. This is a live-out position, and only local candidates will be considered.

 

Responsibilities

 

Include but are not limited to:

  • All aspects of full-charge childcare, including feeding, bathing, bedtime routine, diapering, potty training, and always ensuring the safety and well-being of the child
  • Pick up from school which is either a 25-minute walk or a quick bus or subway ride away
  • Proactively engage the child in age-appropriate activities including educational play
  • Create a nurturing and stimulating environment for the child’s overall development
  • Communicate regularly with parents about the child’s progress and be forthcoming about any questions or concerns
  • Work collaboratively with parents, always keeping the child’s best interest in mind
  • Taking the child to/from activities
  • Take the child out for strolls
  • Child-related housekeeping and organization

  • Ability to easily keep up with a young child

  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with parents
  • Prior experience in a similar role

Requirements

  • Ability to work around certain food and nut allergies
  • Up-to-date vaccinations for Covid, MMR, Dtap and flu
  • Err on the side of caution in public places and wear a mask
  • Current child CPR certificate
  • Comfortably navigate the city with a stroller and small child
  • Knowledge of the city in general, various routes, and public spaces
  • Legal to work in the U.S

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $35 to $40 per hour, PTO, MetroCard, a negotiable medical stipend, sick days, and Federal holidays.
