Overview

A warm and fun family of three is looking to bring a part-time family assistant into their home to help care for their 9-month-old daughter. The schedule would be Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm, totaling 20 hours per week. Ideally, they would love to bring on a bilingual nanny who speaks Portuguese, French or Spanish in addition to English, with the goal of teaching their daughter the language. The family is looking for someone to assist in the evenings, allowing the parents some time to work out or complete other tasks, while also supporting the daily functioning of the household.

Responsibilities

Nanny:

  • Provide attentive and nurturing care for the child
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the child at all times
  • Create a safe and stimulating environment that encourages the child's physical, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Follow established routines and adjust as needed
  • Engage in activities that promote development, such as reading, singing, and age-appropriate outings
  • Provide guidance related to the child’s care while respecting the family’s personal preferences
  • Full-charge care, including bathing, feeding, and diapering
  • Child-related tidying up, including laundry and sterilizing bottles
  • Track and log the child’s developmental milestones and assist with reaching them

Family Assistant:

  • Family laundry
  • Simple cooking for the child and parents
  • Light housekeeping, including dishes, changing sheets, etc.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Ability to speak Portuguese, French or Spanish preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with sleep training is a huge plus
  • Warm, nurturing, and kind demeanor
  • Understanding of infant development and ability to recognize and respond to infant needs
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and professional
  • Ability to work intuitively and collaboratively with the family

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with young children
  • CPR & First Aid Certified
  • Up-to-date on all vaccines (COVID, RSV, Tdap, flu)
  • Excellent references
  • Legally authorized to work in the US

Salary and Benefits
