Overview

A lovely young family in downtown Manhattan is seeking a full-time career nanny for their eight-month-old child. The baby has been diagnosed with food allergies, so the successful candidate will have experience with allergies or be extremely diligent and willing to learn. The general schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm, or 8am-5pm.

Responsibilities

  • All duties related to the care of the child
  • Managing developmentally appropriate sleep and feeding schedules
  • Child related laundry, tidying, and organization (the family has a housekeeper so family housekeeping is NOT required)
  • Healthy and fresh food preparation and meal planning, taking extreme care with regards to food allergies
  • Occasional errands- picking up groceries or mailing packages, etc.
  • Keep the child engaged in and around the home- the family is not looking for a nanny who must be out of the home all day. Outings are welcome, but these should be child-focused, and the nanny should be willing to spend time in the home each day
  • Provide loving and kind boundaries, stick to a routine

Qualifications

  • Warm, empathetic, and loving
  • Knowledgeable, with ideas and suggestions about childcare, but also willing to take feedback and follow parental directives
  • Mature and trustworthy
  • Poised and professional
  • Knowledgeable about childhood development, educationally focused
  • Looking for a long-term fit
  • Team player- housekeeping is not required, but the nanny should be willing to empty the dishwasher or take out the trash if it's needed during their working hours
  • Reliable and flexible
  • Perceptive and thoughtful, with the ability to think ahead and plan for future developmental stages

Requirements

  • US work authorization
  • Experience with childhood allergies, or extremely diligent and willing to learn
  • Experience with infants and toddlers
  • Experience with multiple children, as they are hoping to grow their family
  • The ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally is a plus but NOT a requirement- this includes several weeks in Europe during the summer months
  • The ability to swim would be a plus but is NOT a requirement
  • German speaking would be a HUGE plus!
  • Yearly flu vaccine and Covid boosters as needed, updated TDap

Salary and Benefits

  • $32-42/hr. DOE
  • PTO
  • Open to a health stipend for the right candidate
