Overview

A wonderful couple based in Miami Beach is seeking a knowledgeable and supportive temporary newborn care specialist or infant nanny for their baby born November 2024 to start ASAP. The schedule would be 20/7 the first month or so and then likely moving to a more traditional 12 hour day going forward. The expected length of the term is 3 months, finishing end of May/beginning of June. There will be some short-term travel expected throughout the contracted term. The position can be live-in for the first month and then will be live-out after that. 

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing the safety and well-being of the baby at all times
  • Implementing effective sleep and feeding routines
  • Age-appropriate engagement of the baby that encourages meeting of developmental milestones including daily stroller walks and taking the baby to the park for some time on a blanket or play mat
  • Providing practical tools to enable mom to keep baby on schedule during the day, thus setting baby up for success at night, and vice versa
  • Be willing to travel with the family
  • Provide recommendations on items for the nursery/baby
  • Provide professional guidance as it pertains to baby care, while respecting the family’s personal preferences
  • Full-charge care, when required 
  • Light housekeeping related to baby and oneself

Qualifications

  • Must ideally have at least 5 years' verifiable experience working as a newborn care specialist or nanny with extensive infant experience 
  • Training and continuing education in the newborn care and child development fields
  • An easygoing and warm attitude and be able to strike a balance between providing suggestions to parents and following their lead
  • A family-oriented and evidence-based approach to the newborn care career
  • Fluency in a second language, ideally Spanish, would be a plus

Requirements

  • US passport, Green Card or EAC 
  • Up to date on Tdap and MMR vaccinations
  • Passport ready and willing to travel, if required 
  • Available to start ASAP and commit to the full contract term of 3 months

Salary and Benefits

  • Pay rate will be commensurate with experience, training, credentials, and personality fit. From $600+ per day
  • Benefits offered for the short-term role would include paid sick days and possibly Paid Time Off
