Overview

A loving couple expecting their first child is seeking a temporary summer live-in nanny/Mother's helper with newborn experience in East Hampton, NY. The role will be from July 1st through Labor Day. There could be potential to extend, before or after, as a live-out role in NYC if the candidate lives locally/has their own housing. This schedule is flexible and can be a ten hour timeframe of 7am-5pm or 8am-6pm.  The position is ready to hire now.  Local candidates to the tri-state area only.  The family is not looking to relocate anyone.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with feeding, burping, diaper changes, and soothing the baby.‬
  • Bottle preparation, sterilization, and cleaning of all baby-related items.‬
  • Maintain inventory of all baby items, including ordering items per mother's preferences.‬
  • Monitor baby's development and provide gentle stimulation (reading, tummy time,‬ etc.).‬
  • ‬‭ Maintain a clean and safe environment for the baby.‬
  • Assist with light household tasks (laundry, tidying up baby's area, tidying up common‬ areas like living room, dishes).‬
  • ‬Support Mom with meal prep and hydration throughout the day.  
  • Shopping for any items needed for a recipe provided by mom.‬
  • Run occasional errands (grocery shopping, pharmacy runs, etc.).
  • ‬‭Provide guidance and support to the new mom.‬
  • ‬‭Help facilitate a calm, peaceful environment for rest and recovery.‬

Qualifications

  • Nurturing, warm, patient, and attentive
  • Reliable/dependable
  • Able to‬‭ take the initiative while respecting the‬ family's routine.  
  • Must love dogs and occasional dog walking.‬

Requirements

  • Legal to work in the US
  • CPR Certified
  • Valid and clean driver's license
  • Already living locally to the NYC area
  • Prior experience with newborns is required.
  • Knowledge of infant care, postpartum care,‬‭ and developmental milestones
  • Household upkeep.‬
  • Scrubs/nurse's uniform required
  • Aware of boundaries and privacy with the newborn and family
  • Flexibility in schedule
  • Hands-on baby support
  • General household assistance
