A sweet family in East Hampton, Long Island, is seeking a housekeeper/nanny to care for their home and children who are ages 2-years-old and 4-years-old. The schedule will be Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm or 7am to 3pm. The family's older child is disabled, requiring specialized care. The candidate will also practice physical therapy and will participate in play. The mother will train the right candidate. The younger child is typically developing and will start a part-time school program nearby the home in September. The family has a flexible start date but would ideally like someone in place sooner rather than later. 

Nanny Responsibilities - 3 hours per day (morning)

• Simple meal prep for the younger child 
• Playing with both children inside or in the backyard 
• In the future, school drop off and pick up nearby for the younger child

Housekeeping Responsibilities - Remainder of day

• Overall cleaning of the home
  
• Vacuuming/dusting
• Cleaning kitchen including dishes and loading/unloading dishwasher
• Deep-cleaning bathrooms
  
• Making beds
• Laundry with particular attention to washing instructions (including linens) 
  
• Maintaining organization of pantry and closets

• Calm, easy going, quiet energy as the older child does not do well with high energy or loud environments 
• Comfortable with an involved mother who works from home part-time and okay deferring to her on decision-making
• Available for occasional weekend daytime hours with notice 
• Open to possible travel 

• Non-smoker, must be comfortable not wearing perfume or using strong-smelling detergents for work clothes, and have no pets at home 
• Comfortable spending a lot of time inside as the older child needs to be in a low-stimulation environment 
• Willingness to work with a child with unique needs and comfortable lifting him in and out of his indoor wheelchair (he is currently about 28 lbs)
• Commuting distance from East Hampton (Long Island)
• Legally able to work in the US

$35 per hour plus 3 weeks of vacation time (1 week of the nanny's choosing and 2 weeks when the family travels without the nanny)
