Overview

A multilingual, international family in SoHo, NYC, is seeking a kind, loving and competent French-speaking nanny for their 6-month old. The role will start in March, when the family's newborn care specialist leaves, and the schedule will be Monday through Friday from 9am-7pm. There is a chance the family may spend from May through September in Tokyo, Japan, so candidates should ideally be willing to join them. If not, the family might also consider retaining the nanny during this time, if they are the perfect fit, but are unable to travel with them for this amount of time for whatever reason. This opportunity is only available to those candidates seeking a long-term commitment, since the family are seeking a nanny who will grow with theirs. The family will also consider candidates with German or Spanish as a second language.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional care for the child, ensuring safety, well-being and development.
  • All typical nursery duties will apply, including food prep, laundry (if required), limited tidying up of her play areas, swapping out clothes she’s outgrown, keeping on top of her supplies etc.
  • Collaborate with the parents on feeding, sleeping, and daily routines
  • Design a schedule of activities (inside and outside the home) that foster creativity, help the child master fine and gross motor skills, language, numbers etc.
  • Travel with the family both domestically and internationally - nothing is in the calendar as yet, but they love to travel, so the perfect nanny should ideally also enjoy exploring the world, experiencing new cultures, and foster a sense of adventure in their daughter

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 8 years' verifiable experience working as a professional nanny
  • An educational background in ECE, Child Development or other relevant field is preferred
  • Candidates should be loving, patient, with a healthy mix of warmth and professional boundaries
  • Be outgoing, confident, and collaborative, with both intellectual and emotional fluency and an international mindset

Requirements

  • US passport, Green Card or EAC
  • CPR and first aid certified
  • COVID vaccinated, and up to date on Flu/RSV/Tdap and MMR vaccinations
  • Passport ready and willing to travel both domestically and internationally
  • There is a chance the family may get a dog in the future, so candidates should be pet friendly

Salary and Benefits

  • $45-$50+ per hour + healthcare, travel day fees + all industry standard benefits
