Overview

A family moving to Manhattan for around 5-6 months seeks a wonderful full-time, live-in or live-out nanny for the duration of their time there.  The role is likely to start early March and the approximate schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8am-7pm daily.  The family will travel to the UK for a few weeks May/June time and then will return to the US for another couple of months.  The nanny should be available for the entire period, and open to joining the family in the UK.

Responsibilities

The nanny will be responsible for 2 children, aged 4-years and 2-years-old.  Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • General nursery duties
  • Preparing nutritious and delicious meals for the children
  • Finding fun activities, playgroups and classes in their local area (to be confirmed!)
  • Engaging in plenty of imaginative and creative play
  • Supporting their emotional and physical well-being and encouraging their continued growth and development

Requirements

The right candidate will be flexible and loving, aligning with the family’s values. The family would love to welcome a nanny who:

  • Encourages a calm, happy environment
  • Can instill a foundation of good manners
  • Provides gentle boundaries and who can be kind yet firm when required
  • Has a warm, loving and nurturing nature
  • Has previously travelled with a family
  • Is a confident driver (for when the family are in the UK)
  • Has at least 8 years experience and who is completely familiar with young children of a similar age
  • Is flexible and accommodating
  • Has a pitch-in mentality, happy to share care with Mum when required (she will not be working) and able to support the family seamlessly

Salary and Benefits

From $35/hr, depending on experience
