A kind and easy-going family of 4 in Atherton is seeking a part-time innovative chef to start ASAP making lunches and dinners. The family appreciates multi-ethnic cuisine and diverse cooking including Mexican, Asian, and Indian for example. They enjoy high-quality, ingredient-forward meals. The schedule will be 2-3 days per week, typically 8 hours per day including cooking and cleanup. Ideal days would include Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday but there is flexibility for the perfect candidate. The schedule will usually be arriving by 10am and leaving by 6/630pm.

• Cooking lunch and dinner for two adults and two children. Sometimes the children will eat something else prepared by the nanny and sometimes one of the principals may not need dinner. 
• Grocery shopping including farmer's market and restocking of the pantry. 
• Keeping the kitchen tidy and cleaning up before leaving. The chef will be expected to serve the food and can leave after cleaning up. Typically dinner for the children is served around 4:30 and the adults eat at 5/5:30.  
• The chef will be expected to send the week's menu the week before so the principals can advise on any changes. The family welcomes taking into account seasonal produce and what is fresh week to week.

• The ideal candidate is clean, tidy, and easy-going. The family is thoughtful and kind, so they hope to find a chef matching that energy.
• Team player who works well with others in a busy house. This is a fully staffed home and everyone works together 
• A candidate willing to take feedback in order to build a positive relationship based on tastes and preferences
• Flexible and excellent communicator

• Must be happy to work around young children (2 children under 5 years old). The kids are very friendly and like to watch and sometimes be involved in cooking. Being willing to include the children occasionally is much appreciated 
• Comfortable with a friendly dog in the home who comes in and out of the kitchen 
• Legal to work in the US
• A driver with their own car is required

• $70-80 per hour
• Guaranteed pay per week
• Sick days and vacation days (will usually be coordinated around family’s travel)
• Willing to be on payroll
