Overview

A welcoming and respectful family seeks two part-time housekeepers for two Sagaponack homes.  The summer schedule will likely be Mondays and Thursdays for 8hrs each day, while the winter schedule will also be Mondays and Thursdays but for around 4-5hrs each day, and with a more flexible start and finish time.  There may also be opportunities to take on extra projects.

Responsibilities

Duties will be split between a main home and a guest house, within walking distance of eachother.  The combined properties consist of 11 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 3 kitchens, 2 living rooms, 2 dining rooms, gym, pool etc.  General responsibilities will be:

  • Dusting, vacuuming, mopping 
  • Cleaning kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms (if they have been used)
  • Laundry and occasional ironing
  • Keeping everything clean, sanitized, tidy and organised
  • Cleaning, tidying and maintaining outdoor areas including furniture and furnishings
  • Occasional receiving and putting away of deliveries and groceries if the PA or caretaker aren't on site
  • Fortnightly cleaning of the pool house, studio and two garages

Requirements

The busy period tends to be from Memorial day to Labor Day, so please expect longer hours and a higher work-load during this time.  The family are kind and low-key, they will only consider candidates who have sterling references and a similar outlook. Candidates should be:

  • Fluent in English
  • Fit and active, able to manage two large homes and to cope with several flights of stairs
  • Effective communicators and great team-players, comfortable alongside another housekeeper and to support the family, PA and caretaker at all times
  • Flexible and discreet, willing to sign an NDA
  • Honest and respectful

Salary and Benefits

  • $40/hr
